Christmas Day is getting closer every day! There are many answers that abound about the significance of Christmas. For some, it means being with family and friends, sharing a holiday meal, watching Christmas movies, attending Christmas parties, enjoying the festive Christmas sights and lights, or a season of giving. All of these are wonderful traditions and worthwhile things!
However, as we go about our shopping, gift-giving, parties and enjoyment of this time of year, may we pause to remember what the fuss is all about. We may catch glimpses of the Christ child as we participate in our holiday activities by maybe seeing a manger scene here or there or through the love shared with other people. I encourage you, though, to go to the place that has been entrusted with and privileged to carry on the message of the birth of Jesus Christ--the Church. You may hear Christmas carols as you go about your shopping or listening to the radio, but the Church continues to lift up the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ who comes to bring us hope, joy, peace, and love that abides throughout the entire year and throughout our lives and even to eternity!
You are invited to participate in our Christmas Eve Candlelight and Communion Service at 6:00 PM and our Christmas Day Service of Lessons and Carols at 10:00 AM. May you experience the coming of the Christ Child in your hearts and in your lives.
